Hello again dear hivers of this community. Today was a good day. I hope you had a wonderful day everyone.
While editing my food blog, I had some watermelon, perfect fruit for a sunny weather.
Today I want to share with you my own version of fish balls with “manong” sauce recipe, "manong" is referred to the uncle that was selling fish balls on the street. Fish balls are very known street foods here at our place. You can see vendors at the streets particularly at schools where many children would love to eat this snack because it was really affordable and the sauce was really delicious when combined to this fish balls.
So, I made my own version for this snack. The ingredients are just simple for this recipe. You will be needing a small can of sardines, 2 ½ cups of flour, 1 tsp salt, ½ tbsp pepper, 1 tbsp baking powder, 2 cups of water, moringa leaves and oil for frying.
For the sauce you will need 2 cups of water, 1 cup brown sugar, 1 ½ tbsp flour, 1 tbsp cornstarch ,3 tbsp soy sauce, chopped garlic and onion.
First step, in a bowl, mashed the sardines using a fork. When the sardines were already mashed add the flour, salt, pepper, baking powder, and slowly add the water. Last is to add the chopped moringa leaves. When the ingredients were already mix, let it rest for 1 hour so that the size will be doubled.
For the sauce, just add all the ingredients in a casserole then put on the fire into low-medium heat, keep on stirring the sauce until it becomes thick. Then you have it, a perfect sauce for this street food.
After 1 hour resting the mixture, deep pan fry it, until it becomes golden brown, I made so many balls on this recipe, enough for our snack today.
It was really satisfying that you can cook a recipe that you are craving. Also, my kids really enjoyed eating this snack.
That’s all my dear hiver friends of this community, who loves to share their recipe of good and delicious foods. Have a great day everyone.
Sincerely, @saijan19
