What if I told you that I had my first hug when I was already in tertiary institution? "Hug? Just a hug? A hug that’s very common?" I know you're asking these questions, but it's not the ordinary hug. I'm referring to the intentional romantic hug with the opposite s3x — the kind that, before it happens, the brain has already done an X-ray scan on the other person and imagined the transfer of current. You know, for some of us who were brought up in the village, we weren’t used to the city lifestyle of hugging. In fact, hugging appeared to us as nothing but a romantic act. So, I needed that hug. I needed that romantic thing. I needed to have that first genuine hug — to know how it feels.

Before this particular afternoon, I had been fantasizing about some dirty things involving this busty church friend. I liked her, but she had 100% celebrity quality, especially with her originally bleached skin(very white)— and these qualities made her a no-go area for me. She was likely to turn me down if I ever made a move to woo her, mainly because I wasn’t even sure I could afford just her monthly cream.

That afternoon, it was hot and the sun was pushing out the hunger even more. I had just stepped out of the school gate, and before I knew it, I saw this fair, heavy-chested lady in a white, tight-fitting shirt, screaming my name and running towards me — and boom! She hugged me.

At that moment, it felt like I had been shocked by an electric current. My body griiiiii-ed and, still standing on the spot, I didn’t know what to do. Yes, I had watched countless movies where people hugged, but at that moment, I got confused, with a lot running through my mind. "Should I put my hand on her back shoulder to reciprocate the rubbing on my back?"* "Should I put it on her ‘heavy back’ as social media always encourages guys to do — to prove that they’re man enough?"

All these thoughts happened in a flash, and in the end, I didn’t know how to go about it. I just dropped my hands flat without reciprocating anything — because I didn’t want my ‘man’ to also shoot out and let her know that I was gone already. I also wanted to avoid the embarrassment of all 'eyes on me' when she finally let go, considering we were at the school gate with people moving to and fro...guys will understand better

"Kingsley, how have you been? It’s been a long time." When she finally removed her heavily loaded body from mine, she asked, laughing and looking all happy.

That was the first time I had seen her in that mood, and I was struggling to recover from the shock, while also trying to ensure that the zip area of my trousers didn’t give me away.

"I’ve been around na. When did you come back?"

"This morning ooooh! Let me rush to class, I have a lecture now. I’ll write you on WhatsApp because there’s something I want us to discuss," she said and ran off, and all I could see as she ran away was her transparent beauty from the back.

As soon as I turned to start walking, my senses flew away again and I began to replay the whole situation in my mind. My body was completely swallowed by her costly perfume, and I began to wonder why she suddenly hugged me in public, looking all happy and also promising to chat me because she wanted us to discuss something.

"Could it be that she has noticed my green lights? Could it be that she wants to ask me out?" I pondered, and when I recalled again how electrifying my body felt when she hugged me, I had to stop and branch off at a corner — just to let my body calm down first before continuing my journey.
