I can vividly recall all that happened that night while I was on the stage. I have tried to delete this particular experience from my head, but it has simply refused to let go, hehehe. You know, a wardrobe malfunction in public comes with a mix of feelings. If you can relate, it's funny and also embarrassing. At that spot, it wasn't funny to me, but thinking about my mess thereafter, I just laughed out loud at myself.
We had a program in our church; it was our annual praise fiesta sometime in August of every year. The plan was to invite some of these top music ministers to grace the occasion, but unfortunately, we couldn't meet up with the financial demand, and so, we, the praise team, decided to take over the stage on the D-day.
Breaking news!
Our music leader told me to get ready as one of the lead singers on that day. Woot! Lead singer? Nay, let me be the back up singer instead, I pleaded, but who cares? Our leader has spoken, and that's final. I took up the task and went into deep praise and worship rehearsals. Like, I rehearsed! I even prayed and fasted oo, asking the Holy Spirit to take over, lol.
In all my preparations, I didn't fail to ignore my fashion sense. I carefully selected an outfit that would make me look elegant! I already imagined how glorious I would look standing in front of a large audience, but what I ignored was how tight the dress I selected was holding me tightly from my shoulder down to my chest. I waved it off; after all, what is fitting without a dress holding one firmly? I whispered to my inner self. But then reality came knocking when I carried the mic, singing down the glory of God among the congregation.
It was very lively; the way people were responding to my songs was on another level, and I told myself, "Sinach junior has arrived at the stage today, hahaha ". My morale was high; I stopped from standing at a spot and started moving around the stage, raising one of my hands and singing. I moved left, right, and even turned back to face my back up singers at a point. The next song that came into my mouth was Honassana diriiiiii!!!!! It was a spirit-filled worship... I was no longer in the flesh, hahaha ... I already moved to the realm of the spirit, and then I lifted my hands in worship, and immediately, my dress tore from the armpit, exposing a side of my body that shouldn't be exposed in a public , damn!.
You needed to see how lighted that stage was. I came down to flesh from being in the spirit by force, lol. I didn't even know the next stanza of the song to sing anymore but ended everything abruptly, running to a hidden place to hide my shame Lol.
Anyways, the dress gave me a sign, but I overlooked it all in the name of striving to appear elegant. If only I listened to my self but no, I wanted to look elegantly dressed! Funny enough, it turned from elegant to disaster on the stage lol. Hopefully no one captured it and posted it on the net for trending purposes⦠People do anything to trend as long as they earn...lol.
Phew! I changed my parish after the event; I didn't want to see the same faces again in that church, as I felt everyone saw my mess on the stage. π

Your funny story reminds of the first time I climbed the alter to sing Psalms. The embarrassment wasn't too much because my voice was calm, but my hands were shaking like an alcoholic 's. The song book I was holding made it too obvious. I'm glad no one was videoing.
It's good to dress comfortably from home.

Was there a camera filming the event? I guess no because most times, that's where the oversabi cameramen show their professionalism in an unprofessional mannerπ
Ahh...they captured the event but I don't want to know if they captured me oo ππ€
Is It possible for them to capture the event without capturing the singers? No!!!
Avoid me π€£
