My neighbor's Child

By norbert10 on 8/2/2025

My neighbor's child is a typical example of recanalization, still just a year old, but acts like someone from ancient times. From needing attention to fighting for food with her elder brother, even reporting him to the family in her own baby language.

This baby in question just turned a year old this May and is already causing havoc in the neighborhood, from refusing her mom's food to eating ours because we share a fence, to calling my sister's name first thing when she wakes up just to let us know that the lady of the neighborhood is awake.

There was an action she performed that stunned all of us.So it is the season of corn, most especially fresh corn. In Nigeria, you either eat it roasted or boiled, and I prefer it roasted. My siblings wanted to buy roasted corn for everyone at home to eat, and yes, you guessed it right, her two teeth up and down eat corn too.

She was busy watching the television while we were discussing how we could get the prices we need for the corn. We didn't know she was eavesdropping on us. Mind you, she is just a year and a month old. When they were about to leave, she noticed them leaving and they said, 'Nonye, bye, we want to buy corn.' She was laser-focused on the television, but as soon as she heard 'corn,' she jumped down from where she was sitting and ran towards the door to meet them. And they bought it for her because she doesn't want you to give her half a corn even when she won't get to eat it all but still accord her with respect.

Even though her mom disciplined her, when she met my sister she was communicating in her own baby language. The way she acts, sits, laughs makes everyone believe she is a reincarnation from their family.

Thank you for visiting my blog today. Happy New Month. Image above is AI GENERATED.
