Looking into my wardrobe, I found no dominant colour; rather, it evokes a mixture of colours here and there. The sight is like staring into a sunset over the savannah, beholding the beauty of olive greens, warm browns and burnt oranges. These colours resonate within, gently giving me a deep reflection of my journey: a little vintage, a little modern. Initially, I thought I was not being mindful of my colours. But as the event unfolded, I noticed an unconscious drive towards a collection of clothes, a mixture of English and Ankara materials, with no choice of colour but a desire for calm, peace and inner strength to navigate this life's purpose.

As a teenager, I used to like and wear sharp colours like pink, red and blue. It was because I like looking very sharp and loud. Then, I was slim and would fit into Cinderella's flay gowns. Secondly, as a teenager, I always wanted to show myself, especially when going out with my Dad.

Surprisingly, things turned around, and very sharp colours began to irritate me. I found peace and inner strength putting on brown colours, burnt oranges, olive greens and muted mustard. Gradually, my wardrobe evolved. No more very bright colours, I tilted towards brown, oranges, and muted mustard colours. The brown-coloured outfits reminded me of warmth, professionalism, resiliency, security and calmness. The orange of energy and enthusiasm, creativity and optimism, while the muted mustard reminded me of maturity and stability.

Then comes the million-dollar question. Was it a conscious move? Not really, it was not planned, nor consciously worked on; it just happened. One after the other, the clothes emerged with every event I attend. Subsequently, my wardrobe revolved and emerged with all the colours like a sunset over the savannah. It has become part of my journey, the sights and colours assure and remind me of how calm, peaceful, and mature I have gently navigated my life's journey. I transitioned from a loud pattern of a wannabe teenager to a calm and elegant professional. Kudos to the colour choices that now reflect who I truly am. This is my story, my wardrobe now radiates calmness, strength and creativity, A little vintage, A little modern and entirely me.
