Would I still want to get married when I’m old and wrinkly? Honestly, I can’t tell. I don’t know. I’m still very young and don’t know where I’ll be in five years, over 65 is another story of its own.

I’m yet to be married and like all young girls my age, I only hope and look forward to the best. We hear so many negatives happening in the world today with divorces it’s difficult not to get scared. I can’t live through a divorce but worse, I can’t live in a miserable marriage.

Let’s say I become a widow at that age, would I want to get married again? I honestly don’t know who I’d be then and what I’d be feeling but, right now I can say I don’t see the need. Who knows? I may grow up and change my mind.

I think all I’d want is to be with my children, grand and great grandchildren. I don’t think I would want to get married again. What I may want, however, would be companionship. Hopefully, my best friend is still alive and retired then. Then we would take trips around the world together and gossip like the old people we are.

I have doubt that I’ll be able to love anyone again if I lose my husband. Especially at that age. I may just want to live out my days with the family I have enjoying all my life has become. I may as well spend time with less privileged strangers. Giving is one of the best medicines for the heart.

But like I said, that’s a lot of years down the line. Things may change. If there is anything I have learned with life it is how dynamic it is. Like the waves of the sea, it can change course. So, maybe I won’t think this way years later. Maybe I would think it better to have someone again. Maybe I may even fall in love. I’m laughing thinking about it. Life is unpredictable you see, and many times things we see as impossible turns out to be simple.
