The funny thing is, I didn’t consciously choose it. I never woke up and said, “From today, I am a black-only fashion icon.” It just… happened. One black t-shirt here, one pair of black jeans there. Then suddenly, I looked into my wardrobe one day and realized wow, it’s a mini market for black clothes in here.
I think it started with convenience. Black is loyal. It hides stains, forgives rushed mornings, and makes you look like you tried harder than you actually did. Got a last-minute outing? Black dress. Didn’t iron your clothes well? Black shirt. Feeling bloated? Black top. You can wear a black top twice without it being obvious with stain. Want to look chic with zero effort? Black everything.

But over time, I realized black also feels like a mood. It’s confidence without shouting. It’s classy without begging for attention. It’s the friend that goes everywhere with you and never embarrasses you. Honestly, black is like that one reliable friend who always shows up. Black makes you blend with any thing and also makes you stand out.
Sometimes though, I open my wardrobe and just think to myself that "girlllllll just change your clothes or look different today" That’s when I remember my one red dress or bright Ankara outfit, and wearing it feels like a mini festival. People notice immediately: “Wow, you look so bright today!” Meanwhile, I’m just thinking, Relax, it’s one dress out of thirty.
If my wardrobe could talk, it would probably roll its eyes and say: "We both know you’re wearing black again today."

Well the vintage outfit I am wearing in my avatar is one of my only two outfits that are mostly red, usually reserved as my secondary color after black which I feel most cozy with. Black is undoubtedly the color of elegance, but you should try other tones. Constantly wearing the same shade can actually take away from the seriousness of your look. Plus, visually, it doesn't do us many favors — at least for me, being slim, I tend to avoid it a little. 😊✨👗
