Would you consider remarrying or having another partner if you are a 71 year old widow or widower? Why or why not?

Hmmm 71years old is quit alot for someone to go into Holy matrimony, whether is to remarry or having another partner, no offense to those that are willing.

Plus I see the need for most persons wanting to remarry again when at that age. There are so many reasons that would make someone go into it at such an age, I get it.

But me personally, with my reasoning now, I know most decisions we make in life comes with age too, there is an old saying which goes "what an adult sees sitting down,a young child would not be able to see it, even if the child stands ontop of a mountain". I'm saying this because I don't know what life will throw at me at that age, I just pray and hope it comes out as I hope and pray for.

That being said, at 71years old being a widow, would I want to remarry? It's a NO for me following some reasons

1. Health concerns: at 71 years, it's obvious that our health will be an issue of concern, Imagine adding marriage responsibilities to the already stressful health situation between us.

2. caregiving: it's obvious that the responsibility of taking care of him will be on me as per being a couple, I think at that age I should be resting and enjoying my children and grandchildren.

3. Loss of Independence: freewill to move and do certain things will be restricted, Imagine getting married to a jealous type because I know jealousy does not go away with age.

Getting to know someone else to the extend of marriage is such a hassel at the age of 71, at such an age my goals and aim will be to continue to nuture and enjoy my relationship with loved ones, focus on activities that will give me joy and fulfillment.

Having hobbies, discussing with friends my age, having good time with my kids and grandkids, family in general and eating good food is going to be my slogan at that age.
