Question: would you consider remarrying or having another partner if you are 71-year old widow/widower? Why or why not
Wow, this question is quite deep, you know. At 71, you would really want someone who can always be there with you,holding hands and reminiscing about the good old days and everything in-between.
For me, the answer is a No, i won't consider that let alone think of it. That's a good old age to me to cherish the memories we have made.

Love is beautiful, and to love and be loved right is an amazing feeling and a blessing in which that not everyone get to experience. it's even worth more when you choose that same person to spend the rest of your lives together.
Someone with whom you can laugh, hold hands,cry, giggle at random jokes and weather every storms and seasons together (till death do you part).
I will rather spend my remaining days holding onto the memories and family we have together, which will be more fulfilling for me than having another partner. Because with a love like ours, i doubt i will be able to love another or even give that same energy and all to someone new.
It would be best to channel all of that love and time finding someone new, to our children and grandchildren while sharing stories of a love as beautiful as ours, which they can also hold onto.

Yes, I agree with you, this is a beautiful perspective. Not to say that there is anything wrong with enjoying a new love, but I think it's wonderful to honor the one who passed by keeping them in your memory, and continuing to give love through the lives you made together.
