Hello Splinter nerds.
Frontier is Live!
It is the new format in Splinterlands that is free to play and free to earn because as you complete quests, you earn foundation cards that are not soulbound, they are transferable and sellable in the market.
This is a good way to promote Splinterlands, people will be curious to check the game out, knowing they don't need to put a dime before they can battle with others to earn rewards, the moment they fall in love with the game through the frontier, they might decide to check out other formats as well, so Kudos to the splinterlands team for this amazing step they take.
Now let us talk about Frontier and how to start!
The first step is to play the campaign to earn foundation cards, which would be needed to kickstart the frontier. This can be found on the left side in-game as shown in the screenshot above.
I completed the book 1 way back before Frontier was live, which was what made it possible for me to play Frontier. Still, for a beginner who is just starting his Splinterlands journey, the campaign is the first step where you can earn foundation cards that can be used to battle in the Frontier format.
The Frontier reminds me of the past when we were able to complete a quest with a certain splinter to get rewarded. The difference is that Frontier does not require you to use a particular splinter; all you need is 5 wins using any splinter to get a reward card.
I am still in bronze 3. This is because I don't have enough time to spare for Frontier. I am busy playing Modern and tournaments, but I still try to complete the daily Frontier quest to earn the foundation cards.
I have a decent foundation card collection. All are still in level 1. I believe the moment I advance in the league, the number of reward cards for each quest will increase. My new mission now is to level up in leagues so I can level up my foundation cards.
I love the fact that Frontier doesn't allow the usage of bots, and they should not try to put liquidity bots either, because I am finding those bots annoying nowadays; they seem to be overpowered and snatching rewards from real players. I would love the Frontier to be free from that, and yeah, Splinterlands should do something about the modern liquidity bot too; it is either they reduce how good they are or remove them.
Out of all the games launched on Hive years ago, Splinterlands is still the one standing tall. This is not an easy feat to achieve with all the downtime we are having in crypto generally, but the Splinterlands team is still delivering and fulfilling their promises to the investors and players.
The game has a bright future, and the Splintershards, which is the native token, is going to shock many people when it explodes. This is the best time to gather.. Millionaires are made during the bear.
The goal behind introducing the frontier format is to have more players in the Splinterlands ecosystem, and I believe this will work. We should have a surge in the number of player base within a short time, Splinterlands moving in the right way
