This week's Splinterlands Community Engagement Challenge is about the new ranked mode, hence the event's title: Welcome to the Frontier. The idea here is to share the news about the new Frontier format with the rest of the community. So, we'll start by discussing one of the main topics: the Frontier rewards distributed in daily missions; some insights; and finally, some tips on tanks that have proven to be very strong among the Foundation card options. #frontierformat #communitychallenge

New Frontier Mode Rewards

This Frontier mode brings something the community has been requesting for a while: a mission system with some kind of reward. In this case, the daily mission that has been implemented requires players who achieve 5 wins in a day to receive a Foundation card. Interestingly, looking at the game's marketplace, these cards are already available for purchase and sale. I thought that, like in other modes, these cards would be Soulbound, but it looks like you can trade the cards from this set.

Many are already sharing their rewards in X, but what do you think of the cards being freely tradeable in the marketplace? Leave your opinion below! I wonder if this could create a problem in the future... But at the same time, I think it's interesting for newcomers to have this issue of ownership and the ability to trade, sell, or buy another card they like.

Insights on the New Frontier Mode

This new mode, now with the defined name Frontier, is quite difficult in my opinion. Especially at the beginning, because there are so many new cards, new combos, no one knows the meta, and there's the issue of everything being the same. Now, all players basically bring the same cards to combat, so there's no such thing as having a much stronger card than your opponent.

Earning the 5 daily wins isn't an easy task for those who don't have much time; it takes at least 30 minutes. The difference from other modes is that since no one knows exactly the best combinations, you'll need to dedicate your time and pay close attention to your card selection. This 30-minute timeframe comes from a total of at least 10 matches, with each one taking an average of 3 minutes, as you'll have to wait for the match, analyze the situation, choose your team, wait for your opponent, check the result, and move on to the next one.

Best Tanks in the Foundations Collection!

The basis of every team composition in Splinterlands is choosing a good tank. As you discover the best combinations and the Frontier meta, it's important to know at least which tanks are best so you can choose at least one card in your lineup. Starting with the Death element, we have a card, NIM GUARD CAPTAIN, which I even used against one of my teams in another match, and it made me see it differently.

This tank has a good amount of speed and shielding for Frontier standards, and its highlight is its Void ability, which is very effective, since most mages only have 1 magic damage. This makes it effective against melees with 3 shields and against mages with Void.

Another tank that I consider to be a cut above the rest is the Dread Tafarian. He's an earth-elemental card and the only tank card so far with the Heal ability. Since Foundations units have attacks that deal 1 to 2 damage, he can heal 2 HP with his heal, which is very powerful! Furthermore, DREAD TAFARIAN has an interesting kit as a tank: 6 health, 1 shield, 1 attack, and 2 speed, overall average stats.

Recompensas do Novo Modo Frontier

Esse modo Frontier traz algo que a comunidade tem pedido faz um tempo, que seria um sistema de missão, com alguma recompensa. No caso, a missão diária que foi implementada é que os jogadores que conseguirem 5 vitórias no dia recebem uma carta da Foundation. Curiosamente, olhando o marketplace do jogo essas cartas já estão disponíveis para compra e venda. Eu achava que assim como nos demais modos, essas cartas seriam soulbound, mas parece que você pode comercializar as cartas dessa coleção.

Muitos já estão compartilhando as suas recompensas no X, mas o que você acha das cartas serem livres para negociar no marketplace? Deixe a sua opinião abaixo! Eu me pergunto se isso não poderia gerar um problema no futuro… Mas ao mesmo tempo acho interessante para quem está chegando ter essa questão da posse e a carta dela poder ser trocava, vendida, comprar outra carta que achar melhor.

Insights do Novo Modo Frontier

Esse novo modo, agora com o nome definido Frontier, na minha opinião está bem difícil. Principalmente nesse início, porque são muitas cartas novas, combos novos, ninguém sabe qual é o meta e tem a questão de estar tudo igual. Agora todos os jogadores apresentam as mesmas cartas para o combate basicamente, então não tem aquilo de você ter uma carta muito mais forte que o seu oponente.

Para ganhar as 5 vitórias diárias não é uma tarefa simples para quem não tem muito tempo, de gastar pelo menos uns 30 minutos. A diferença para os outros modos é que como ninguém sabe exatamente as melhores combinações, você vai precisar dedicar seu tempo e com atenção à escolha das cartas. Esse tempo de 30 minutos, vem de um total de 10 partidas no mínimo, com cada uma levando em média 3 minutos, já que você terá que aguardar a partida, analisar a situação, escolher o seu time, esperar o adversário, conferir o resultado e ir para a próxima.

Melhores Tanks da Coleção Foundations!

O básico de toda composição de time no Splinterlands é a escolha de um bom tank. Nesse momento de descoberta de quais são as melhores combinações, qual é o meta do Frontier, é importante você saber pelo menos quais são os melhores tanks para você ao menos escolher 1 carta certa na sua lineup. Começando com o elemento Death temos uma carta, NIM GUARD CAPTAIN, que fui inclusive usada contra um time meu em outra partida, e que me fez vê-la de outra forma.

Esse tank apresenta uma boa quantidade de speed e de shield para os padrões Frontier, e seu destaque é a habilidade Void, que é muito efetiva, já que grande parte dos magos tem apenas 1 de dano mágico. Isso faz com que ele seja efetivo contra meleespelos 3 de shield e contra magos com Void.

Outro tank que eu considero estar acima dos demais é o Dread Tafarian. Ele é uma carta do elemento terra e o único dos tanks até o momento com a habilidade Heal. Como as unidades do Foundations tem ataques que vão de 1 à 2 de dano, ele consegue com o seu heal curar 2 HP, o que é muito forte! Além disso, o DREAD TAFARIAN tem um kit interessante como tank, 6 de vida, 1 de shield, 1 de ataque e 2 de speed, no geral status medianos.
