Prelude Hi all, good day to all of you. It's time again for Community Engagement Challenge. Today's topic on the newly launched Frontier Format that went live during the update this week. I've been trying to play Frontier Format for the past few days and was impressed with what was available in this format. So let's get right on with today's sharing.

Enter The Frontier

I didn't realize there was Frontier Format until I spotted the Frontier word above the ranked battle modes.

And that is where I swapped over and see that Frontier Format is finally live!

What Exactly is Frontier Format? If you recalled sometime back, there was the launch of campaign mode where we can earn some cards called foundation cards which also can be used in ranked battles. And this Frontier Format is where you can hone your skills and put these foundation cards into good use.

These foundation cards are free to earn through campaign modes and now, you earn more cards through winning battles in Frontier Format. These earned cards will further help you expand your collection to be used in normal ranked battle, isn't that such a beauty?

Not only that, the energy in Frontier Format is not the same one with normal rank battle! While means that if you deplete your energy in Frontier Format, it is not going to affect your ranked battle energy that is shared between modern and wild formats. So you can earn your foundation cards in Frontier Format while playing your normal games without being affected. And what is cooler is that the cards earned in Frontier Format can be upgraded and be useful additions in your usual rank battle selection.

A Format for New and Old Players Because of a much smaller pool of foundation cards and all, this will be a test of your strategy and anticipating what your opponent will field.

Honestly I realized I have been outsmarted many times during my gameplay. Something that I really need to improve and pick the right cards for each match.

As you can see from the earlier screen shot, I am currently at bronze II league. The climb of leagues was tough as I still trying to get a hand hold on these foundation cards. My loss rate is rather high at this moment so I really need to think how to do better in terms of picking the right cards. Many a times, I even realize my picking was so bad that I get wiped out in just a matter of 2 rounds.

Nevertheless, the goal for each day is to obtain 15 wins in order for us to collect more foundation cards. And one must take note that, if we fail to reach 15 wins or forget to claim, the progress reset to 0 as we start a brand new day. So remember to win sufficiently to 5, 10 or 15 battles to claim a reward card. Do not waste energy unnecessarily as well.

What Card Have I Gotten Thus Far?

Below are some of the cards that I've gotten from winning the daily requirement thus far:

So far it has been mainly common cards but I am really thankful for being able to obtain them. Hoping to get more of them and maybe hope for Archons to come so that my levelled up cards can really be used properly with the appropriate level Archons.

And this is why, this new format will allow us to strengthen our Foundation cards and also strengthen our understanding of ruleset and card placement.

If you haven't start playing it, do go for it and get your foundation cards levelled up which be used in both Frontier and ranked battles. Win-win for all and definitely well received by me whom had been playing Splinterlands for years already. I like how the developers are really listening to the players and this movement is definitely the right thing for more players to come into the game.
