This Week’s Developer Updates

Seven teams responded this week to share updates on their active projects. In no particular order:

Team Techcoderx (@techcoderx / @aioha)

VSC Blocks:

  • Refactored transaction page for latest breaking change to improve display of transaction ledger operations and actions, and as base for displaying offchain transactions
  • First network chart of bridge TVL live on Explorer

Team Threespeak Witness (@sagarkothari88 / @threespeak)

Checkin With XYZ

  • Image upload improvements for checkin-post (scaling images before uploading)
  • User can edit profile photo & upload a photo for the profile picture
  • App Router bug fixes to avoid showing selfie/checkin screen in case the user has already checked in
  • Discussed with Meno & Starkerz about onboarding people & app issues

HiveFlutterKit

  • instead of keeping the codebase in four different packages (dhive-core, dhive-ux, aioha-core, aioha-ux), we now have one single package to avoid all confusion
  • HiveFlutterKit is now open source
  • HiveFlutterKit is available via pub.dev
  • We've updated the documentation for integration
  • We're still working on several things like adding more UX components, adding more things to the documentation so we've a package full of core, UX & DX

Team Actifit (@mcfarhat / @actifit)

Block explorer:

  • Voters dialog revamp
  • Append comment count and expand/collapse on single post view
  • Implement auto-deactivate live mode in all blocks page
  • Fix display of transaction chart on mobile

Actifit:

  • Implement new constraints on account creation (username patterns)
  • Fix menu in responsive mode - dark mode
  • Fix menu buttons' sensitivity in responsive mode
  • Fix custom text editor CTRL+backspace

Team Cryptoshots (@gaottantacinque / @crypto-shots)

CyoptoShots Game

  • headshots-only room setting / game mode
  • intermittent sticky message for flag carrier
  • NodeJs and ReactJs upgrade for the game site; minor UI fixes (inventory, market links).
  • poisonous smoke timers for rooms (wip)
  • analysis and initial design of colored items to distribute around opposite teams' bases
  • more variants for energy crystal
  • review/CR for new NFT market for CS assets
  • onboarding process for new CFO and developer

CyptoShots Infrastructure

  • updated DePin Hive chain scanner due to deprecated haf endpoint.
  • initial integration of an Eth L2 chain login
  • cloud storage cleanup and optimization
  • rewrite of our cross-chain token swap bridge (wip) - set up foundation of "wasps" with re-usable core module

Artificial Intelligence

  • improved internal tool to optimize agentic coding
  • integration test for Hive-Rewards SDK into agentic AI
  • MCP server research/plan.
  • initial devices configuration for CS-dedicated AI

Team Spiritsurge (@spiritsurge / @astralwars)

Retention Metrics Page:

  • Blacklist Data is being prepared from spaminator, TMM list, actifit list to be integrated on site with search functions.
  • This data will also be integrated to see how many onboarded users have been blacklisted as well as be able to see how many users onboarded by specific onboarders are blacklisted.

Team Mithril (@ecoinstant / @team.mithril)

In collaboration with Hive.Pizza

  • Set up the MOON multiverse, allowing multiple games to be run on the same server.

Team Honeycomb (@disregardfiat / @spknetwork)

Honeycomb / SPK Update

  • Tracking issues with Proof of Access
  • SPK CDN released( routing IPFS requests to healthy storage gate ways... Performs health and integrity checks of CIDs)
  • IPFS HLS Loader written to force MIME types for HLS playlists and assets in IPFS( http live streaming protocol ... Not live streaming itself)
  • NFT builder testing
  • Token builder testing
  • Improved data (think Hive SQL) backend allows
    • Account creation methods
    • Notifications from Honeycomb
    • Moderation of tracked posts PoB

DLUX

  • Integrating the above
  • New wallet tunnel for dApps and devices(VR headsets)

What is Swarm of Swarms?

This is a new series of blogs where we will share updates from the Hive development community. The content consists of meeting notes from a virtual developer meeting, titled 'Swarm of Swarms,' which adheres to the Bee Hive theme. We have been doing this for around 30 weeks, without posting the content on-chain or elsewhere. As we broadcast more widely, I hope everyone can gain greater visibility into all the Hive project development.

The Swarm of Swarms is a virtual gathering where blockchain developers building on the Hive network converge to share project updates, insights, and knowledge. This decentralized meet-up brings together a collective of innovators and visionaries from the Hive ecosystem, specifically those developing applications and use cases on the blockchain. As participants join the Swarm, they are exposed to ideas, solutions, and experiences, allowing them to expand their professional networks and gain a deeper understanding of the rapidly evolving Hive ecosystem. Through this virtual convergence, the Swarm of Swarms aims to cultivate a culture of open communication, mutual support, and collective growth among its members.

I send weekly reminders to the participating development teams, encouraging them to share their progress in the Mattermost 'Swarm of Swarms' channel. Other developers can visit this channel to learn about the projects other teams are working on. The hope is that open communication will inspire more side conversations and collaborations. 👏 I appreciate the development team leaders who take a few minutes each week to share their latest achievements. There is room for more participation, and the coffee is free.

Please let me know how I can improve it, and forgive any mistakes. We will iterate!
