Greetings, human duelists! How are you doing...?
To be honest, I didn’t know this mode was already live in @splinterlands. It’s called FRONTIER. In short, it’s a mode where we can play using Foundations cards, which can be obtained for free in the game’s campaign mode.
In this post, we’ll cover several topics so you understand how everything works, plus a final analysis of how I see this mode evolving in the future. That said, let’s get started:
✴︎HOW TO PLAY This mode is located on the left side of Modern, and to access it you just need to click on it. The gameplay is the same as other modes, except you use Foundations cards (including Archons and units). In this mode, you’ll climb through the leagues starting from Bronze 3, as far as your skills and card collection can take you.
WHAT DO I WIN?
This part is interesting: for X number of victories, you’ll receive a chest that contains a card from the Foundations set. The good part? Every 12 hours, you can earn up to 3 free cards (just win, hehe). I assume that the higher your league, the better the loot rewards. So far I’m in Bronze, and these are the cards I’ve received.
✴︎MARKET & LEVELING Good news, dear player: these cards can be sold in game for DEC tokens, allowing you to save up to buy any other card you want. You can also purchase these cards on the market to strengthen your deck and compete in the Frontier league.
The leveling system for these cards is interesting some are worth leveling up (not all), and I think they could fit nicely into some Modern league lineups.
✴︎THOUGHTS I like this mode because it features a new battlefield and gives real purpose to cards that, honestly, no one uses in Modern, let alone Wild. I like that we can get summoners, which in my opinion can be useful in other leagues if we level them up properly and since they’re cheaper than those from Conclave Arcana, they might be a great alternative.
Also, the fact that these are NFT cards adds motivation to play and earn cards that can be sold which is what everyone will do (many are already on the market). This could drive card prices even lower. Still, I think this mode will really help new players earn their first DEC tokens through card trading.
Something I liked is the system where you can only earn 6 chests every 24 hours. This helps combat bots and multi account abuse, although I still feel there are already many cards on the market, and prices may drop even more.
✴︎CONCLUSIONS I like that the team is creating new modes and more uses for our cards. Frontier also has real potential if it’s done in seasonal rotations for example, one month could be Gladius only, another Beta-only, and so on. That would give more value to the old cards collecting dust in our inventories.
Let’s also hope they improve the monetization system for this mode, so we can earn something more than just cards especially since it still consumes energy. But overall, I feel the Splinterlands team is heading in the right direction, and I applaud them for that.

Siendo honesto no sabia que este modo ya estaba activo en @splinterlands, el cual se llama FRONTIER. En pocas palabras es un modo donde podemos jugar con las cartas de Foundations las cuales podemos obtener gratuitamente en el modo de campaña del juego.
Así que este post tocaremos varios temas para que entiendas como funciona todo y un análisis final frente a como veo esto a futuro. Dicho esto comencemos:
COMO JUGAR Bueno este modo esta al lado izquierdo de Moderno y para acceder a él solo basta con darle click. Este modo es igual a los otros solo que con cartas de Foundations ( incluidos los archon y las unidades ). En dicho modo iras escalando en las ligas empezando en Bronce 3 hasta donde te de tus habilidades y cartas que poseas.
QUE GANO Esta parte es interesante ya que cierto por X cantidad de victorias te darán un cofre en el que te saldrá una carta del set de Foundations. Lo bueno que cada 12 horas podrás obtener 3 cartas totalmente gratis ( solo gana jeje ). Supongo que entre mayor sea la liga mejor sera la recompensa del botín, aunque de momento estamos en Bronce y estas han sido las cartas que me han salido.
MERCADO Y NIVEL Bueno querido jugador le tengo buenas noticias y es que estas cartas las puedes vender en el juego por el token Dec y con ello ahorrar para comprar alguna carta que quieras tener. Por otro lado también puedes comprar dichas cartas en el mercado para potenciar tus mazos y poder pelear esta liga de Frontier. Esa parte del nivel de estas cartas es interesante ya que hay algunas cartas que valen la pena subir ( no todas ) y siento que podrían encajar en algunas alineaciones en la liga de Moderno.
PENSAMIENTOS Bueno el modo me gusta porque tiene un tablero nuevo y le estamos dando uso a estas cartas que siendo honesto nadie las juega en Moderno y mucho menos en wild. Me gusta que podemos obtener invocadores , los cuales desde mi punto de vista pueden servir mucho en otras ligas si los tenemos en buen nivel y como son mas económicos que los de **Conclave Arcana **podría ser una opción. Por otro lado al ser cartas nft motiva a jugar e ir ganando las cartas para venderlas que es lo que todo el mundo va a hacer ( ya hay muchas en el mercado ) y esto puede llevar las cartas a precios aun mas económicos. Pero también siento que este modo ayudara mucho a los nuevos jugadores a generar sus primeros **tokens dec **gracias al comercio de las mismas. Algo que me gusto es el sistema de que solo podamos conseguir 6 cofres cada 24 horas con lo que se combate un poco los bots y las multicuentas, aunque siento que ya hay muchas cartas en el mercado y los precios bajaran mucho más.
CONCLUSIONES Bueno me gusta que el equipo este creando nuevos modos y mas usos para nuestras cartas, por otro lado Frontier posee un potencial si hacemos este modo por temporada, es decir este mes se puede jugar solo cartas Gladius, el otro solo cartas beta y así. Esto le daría un poco mas de valor a las cartas viejas que tenemos con teleraña en nuestros inventarios. Esperemos también mejoren el sistema de monetizacion de dicho modo para que se pueda ganar algo aparte de las cartas ya que aquí también se gasta energía; pero siento que van por buen camino equipo de splinterlands y los felicito.
