Hello, Hive friends. I am on the road again. And I did not do well. The temperatures are so high right now that it's not really comfortable travelling in a 34 year old van without air conditioning. And when you realise that the roads all go up into the mountains, the van is really struggling to keep it cool.
So this is what it looks like now. Cooling the engine down and waiting until the temperatures are dropping. Last night at around 2 o'clock, the temperatures were still above 30 degrees celsius. So maybe I only need to travel at night.
I am currently at the highest point of a mountain, and the road towards it was steep. 10% Incline in some places. But the views here are spectacular.
But people are so filthy. It's such a mess here in the bushes. There are plenty of garbage binns, but still, they choose to throw their rubbish into nature.
Still, this is a good place to hang out for a while. It's not an extremely busy road, but still, people stop here often. And not only for the views.
There is a spring in this mountain. Fresh, very cool water is pouring out of it. And many people are filling up their water bottles. I already put my head underneath it a couple of times. I love this. And it's very tasty too, it's very soft. Before I leave, I will fill up all my bottles.
That is, if my engine will do its thing. I already started it, but the oil warning light popped on, and It even starded beeping. I never heard that in the 6 years that i have this van. Chatgpt told that it could be that the oil is too thin because of the temperatures. If not, it could be a serious thing like the oil pomp malfunctioning... I really hope it will be okay and not something serious.

The views are stunning… a shame the car isn’t doing well with those temperatures. Old engines… I started today our drive south and not looking forward to the heatwave that is coming soon for us too. Our van 🚐 is not the youngest either and is fully loaded with our stuff due to us moving 📦📦
I cross my fingers that all will be ok for you, specially with the oil light 🤞🏻🤞🏻
We lost somewhere along the way 3 liter of oil when we drove north 3500km, no visible leaks anywhere… not even on the ground after parking for the night. It did cost us a lot to fix the leak once discovered the problems. Imagine… no lights came on at all, so we didn't know something was wrong. We left southern france with a full service and thought all would be fine after we bought the car. !PIZZA
Are you moving to the south of france? Maybe our paths will cross 💪
It worked. No burning oil light.

it's too tough to drive under the sun now without AC... the oil light usually it's due to low oil level, you should test it and eventually add it
Level was good. It was just to warm so the oli was to thin.

How great! You returned to the road and managed to find a nice spot by the river for the van. Safe travels 😊
