Finalizaron las actividades escolares en las escuelas e iniciamos agosto con actividades de refuerzo pedagógico. Es importante señalar que estas actividades siempre van dirigidas a estudiantes con dificultades en el aprendizaje o con necesidades educativas especiales, ya que es mi especialidad en la que trabajo. Desde hace aproximadamente dos años, en vacaciones, abro esta ventana de opciones a los padres y representantes para lograr la nivelación de sus estudiantes y garantizar un avance para el nuevo grado escolar a cursar. Realmente, es una etapa que disfruto y en la que exploro los aprendizajes de cada niño, tomando en cuenta su construcción, las edades y el nivel en el que se encuentran.
Lo que normalmente conocemos en Venezuela como "tareas dirigidas" se ha convertido en el sustento o una opción viable para muchos docentes que buscan generar un ingreso extra. Sin embargo, debemos tener en consideración aspectos importantes al momento de seleccionar estos grupos; no se trata solo de reforzar una debilidad, sino de ayudar al estudiante a desenvolverse por sí solo en su contexto escolar y que sea capaz de construir de manera eficaz su propio aprendizaje.
Ya me encuentro organizando el próximo grupo que estaré atendiendo a partir de la próxima semana, con edades comprendidas entre 6 y 12 años, en los niveles de educación inicial hasta educación primaria. Disfruto hacer este tipo de actividades, ya que, aparte de enseñar, también aprendo de cada uno de mis estudiantes. Ellos son una muestra de amor, ternura y comprensión, y me fortalecen cada día más en mi formación profesional. No se trata de perder tus vacaciones, sino de usarlas de manera provechosa y, a su vez, generar confianza en tus representantes. Obviamente, todas estas actividades extra son remuneradas.
School activities in the schools have ended and we started August with pedagogical reinforcement activities. It is important to point out that these activities are always aimed at students with learning difficulties or special educational needs, since this is my specialty in which I work. For about two years now, during the vacations, I have been opening this window of options to parents and representatives in order to achieve the leveling of their students and guarantee an advancement for the new school grade to be taken. It is a stage that I really enjoy and in which I explore the learning of each child, taking into account their construction, ages and the level in which they are.
What we normally know in Venezuela as “directed homework” has become the livelihood or a viable option for many teachers seeking to generate extra income. However, we must take into consideration important aspects when selecting these groups; it is not only about reinforcing a weakness, but also about helping the student to develop on his own in his school context and to be able to effectively build his own learning.
I am already organizing the next group that I will be attending starting next week, with ages ranging from 6 to 12 years old, in the levels of kindergarten through elementary school. I enjoy doing this kind of activities, since, besides teaching, I also learn from each one of my students. They are a sign of love, tenderness and understanding, and they strengthen me every day in my professional training. It's not about losing your vacation time, but using it to your advantage and, in turn, building confidence in your representatives. Obviously, all these extra activities are paid.
