A mi madre le gusta disfrutar de la cocina, especialmente cuando elabora ciertos pasteles. Ella, con nostalgia, recuerda cuando los hacía para el disfrute de todos nosotros. Un día, al llegar a casa, le pregunté si quería hacer una torta, ya que le encanta el ponqué tradicional que lleva leche, huevo, vainilla, ralladura de limón, y es suave y esponjoso. Mi mamá tiene 80 años, y por cuestiones de salud no la dejamos usar el horno o la cocina, para evitar cualquier accidente. En esta oportunidad, ambas hicimos un ponqué, pero claro, ella usó su método antiguo de hacerlo: mezclar todos los ingredientes sin mayor precaución y sin medidas exactas. Quizás para ella, en su memoria, todo funciona a la perfección, aunque actualmente se utilizan medidas y procedimientos diferentes. Aun así, se obtiene una torta bastante deliciosa. En este caso, ella quería conservar la esponjosidad, la suavidad, el sabor y la tradición para disfrutar en una deliciosa tarde. Es indescriptible lo que se siente poder disfrutar de estos momentos con tu madre.
My mother likes to enjoy cooking, especially when she makes certain cakes. She nostalgically remembers when she used to make them for all of us to enjoy. One day, when I got home, I asked her if she wanted to make a cake, since she loves the traditional ponqué that has milk, egg, vanilla, lemon zest, and is soft and fluffy. My mom is 80 years old, and for health reasons we don't let her use the oven or the stove, to avoid any accidents. This time, we both made a ponqué, but of course, she used her old method of making it: mixing all the ingredients without much precaution and without exact measurements. Perhaps for her, in her memory, everything works perfectly, although nowadays different measurements and procedures are used. Even so, a quite delicious cake is obtained. In this case, she wanted to preserve the fluffiness, the softness, the flavor and the tradition to enjoy in a delicious afternoon. It is indescribable what it feels like to be able to enjoy these moments with your mother.
