Yesterday, I felt like I spent the whole afternoon reading blogs about Splinterlands and playing in Modern Bronze III, and it was a lot of fun. Maybe it’s because I’m just starting out and the excitement is still fresh? But then again, someone commented on my post saying they’ve been playing the game for three years and still find it fun. That definitely lifted my hopes for the game and reassured me that I made a good decision by starting to play it.
Although it was a lot of fun, I can honestly say it was also tiring. I mean, not only did I spend hours playing, but there was also so much going on and it was my first time playing. The learning curve wasn't easy, but as I kept playing, I realized it gradually became easier to understand.
Since I was exhausted, I decided to go out and grab something to eat and drink.
I thought of getting myself a refreshing milk tea since I don't usually have drinks like that during the weekdays. It felt like a good break from my monotonous weekday eating habits.
It's been months since I consciously decided to avoid sugary drinks, but I figured it wouldn't hurt to have one every once in a while.
I chose the pudding milk tea flavor with pearls.
While some people don’t enjoy the idea of chewing pearls or boba while drinking, I actually find it enjoyable. I’m not sure if it’s a cultural thing, but these kinds of drinks are definitely more popular in Asia compared to Western countries.
Aside from the drink, I also treated myself to a nice plate of Mixed Hor Fun.
This dish had it all, with a variety of toppings ranging from pork, egg, vegetables, prawns, squid, and even fish cake 😋. It instantly made it onto my list of top noodle dishes. What made it even more enjoyable was the texture of the soup. It had a gelatinous consistency that turned more liquid as it cooled down.
Slurping the soup somehow made it taste even better!
Overall, it was a fulfilling day filled with new experiences, both in gaming and food. Taking a break to enjoy something different, like milk tea and a comforting dish, made everything even more enjoyable. I’m looking forward to more days like this—where small adventures bring simple joy.
