Skills have become very important in our society today. A lot of people around the world no longer depend on government jobs in order to survive.
Their skills have become a source of livelihood for them. There are more people who live by their handwork than those who are employed by the government nowadays.
It is amazing how lack of opportunities has made us creative. Instead of wasting in wishes and false hopes people have decided to look for another alternative to survive.
Recently, in my place almost every parent made it a responsibility to enroll their children into learning different skills right from primary school. So that as they grow it will become a part of them.
This is probably due to the high rate of unemployment and it is a wise decision, so that the child would have something to fall back to in case plan A doesn't work.
Learning skills can be so challenging, it is often something that takes a long time to learn. I was opportune to learn a few skills before and I know how difficult it can be.
You might think this skill is easy and you can master it within a short period of time only to enroll and discover that it is wider and deeper than you think.
Even digital skills take a long time to master, I remember a time I bought a course from a friend. He assured me that within a month, if I am dedicated to practice I should be making some money already.
Ah, I got so motivated and dedicated a lot of time to practice everyday, but guess what? After two months, I was still struggling with the basics. I tried all that I knew how to do but it didn't work, so I gave up and dumped the course.
I know for some people, it could be easy but for me, it was not.
For some people, it is possible to master a skill from the basics within a month but for me, honestly, it's something I don't think it's realistic unless I already have knowledge on the basics.
One month is four weeks, you need to practice, suffer in trial and error before you can probably begin to understand how it works. Before you even get to that point it should take more than a month already, I believe.
The least time I have seen people spend to learn a skill is three months and most of them usually go back to upgrade for another three or two months after that because skills take time to learn.
The thing is like building a new trait, you need discipline, concentration, dedication and hard work, although it depends on the kind of skill one has to learn but it still sounds almost impossible in a month.
However, if I am given an opportunity to learn a skill for just a month, I'll go for tailoring. I know it's a very complex skill that sometimes takes six months or a year to learn.
But I am going for it because I already have a foundation on the basics. I was once into tailoring, I already know a few things, so what I'll take my time to do is reverse what I have already learned, probably for a week, then subsequently focus on how to become better.
But even with my foundation, I doubt it's going to be easy for me to master everything within a month.

Oh woaw actually to me fashion designing is too complex for me
It's quite difficult especially if you do not have a foundation
Some skills take longer to master and become good at them, whereas one could still learn one or two within a month if they already know the basics and for you who already understand something about tailoring, I am sure you will catch up with it within a period of 4 weeks.
That's true, each skill has a particular time to master. Some take longer time and some less.
Yes, I can catch a little within a month in tailoring if I should go back but not much LOL
Thanks for stopping by ma
Skills are so important these days. It's great that people are taking the initiative to learn and rely on themselves.
Anyone who took his time to learn any skill has taken a wise decision... These days, skills are very crucial for survival
Where everything seems to be failing us, the economy isn't something we can be proud of, tertiary education is now looking like scam to us, skills are definitely the real survival kit everyone must have.
After cooking I would have also thought of fashion designing but it's a different ball game entirely unless you just want to learn the basics but I must say this is a very good skill to learn Even if not for anything, the ability to make dresses for myself is a big flex
Cooking would actually do for a month, hehehe, ur didn't even cross my mind . Well, fashion designing is a good skill but it takes time to master .
