Happy Sunday, dear friends on Hive, it's another exciting edition of the Hive learners creative Sunday, a day where we get to share our creative talent and also get to learn from others as well.
For my entry today, I will be sharing with you the process of making a kimono blouse, which is one of the easiest sewing tutorials to get busy with, especially for a beginner. It is one of the two-piece outfits I recently made for myself and can be worn to any casual occasion as it is very comfy, chic, and stylish. It can also be worn by women of different ages, both young and old.
Without further ado, let's get right into the making process.
Materials used
- Ankara fabric
- matching coloured thread
Cutting And Sewing Process
- I started by cutting the front bodice pattern, which is gotten by cutting the bodice together with the sleeves, then I cut out the V-neck line and also added about 2 inches allowance for both seam and ease allowance
- Using the front pattern, I also cut out the back pattern but with a rounded neckline.
*Then I cut out the facing for both the back and front neckline.
- Using the facing, I neatly turned in the neckline of both the front and back.
- Next, I neatly hemmed the sleeves' ends
- Then I joined the front and back patterns by the shoulders and also by the sides.
- Finally, I hemmed the blouse neatly at its base, and that completes the making process of this kimono blouse.
With the processes provided, you can experiment with different fabrics of your choice and add any embellishment you seem fit to give your blouse that extra touch, as you desire. I hope you found this tutorial helpful.
