We already have enough personal problems to justify the "world's leaders" playing a dangerous game of World War. We survived the 2019 pandemic and are still reeling from COVID and its vaccines. We already felt triumphant in the 21st century, but since nothing is static on this planet Earth, we continue to hang by a thread, between life and death.
The geopolitical logic applied to actions prior to World War II has been in force and applied in the last five years, where the great powers—China, Russia, the United States, and other countries—want to gain territory, gaining more influence in their surrounding regions.
It's not unreasonable to imagine Canada as part of the United States, Taiwan fighting the Chinese giant, while Russia continues to pursue its ambitions to annex struggling Ukraine. These are similar situations that existed before 1939.

The polarization of thought has already eroded the foundations of society, and civil values have drastically crumbled to the point that ethics, empathy, and peaceful coexistence have been relegated to the background.
Me first, me second, and everyone else will have to fend for themselves. Few people are holding the lifeline; no one wants to help those in need anymore, especially if they have pressing financial problems. Unfortunately, everyone carries their own burdens within them, and the struggle is no longer hand-to-hand. Physical violence is no longer exercised directly, and apathy is used as a double-edged sword, more deadly than a nuclear weapon.
