Hey hey! Itβs me again, Rosieee! πΈ
This time, Iβm bringing you on a virtual trip to Moalboal, Cebu, Philippines! ποΈ This adventure was totally unplanned β we got invited ora mismo (on the spot!), and since we had a free day, we thought, why not? So, off we went! Packed a few essentials, brought our happy hearts, and hit the road.
Now let me tell you, Moalboal isnβt exactly next door β itβs a good 3 to 4-hour drive from our city, depending on traffic and how many snack stops you make (and trust me, we made a few π ). But the long drive gave us time to just relax, look out the window, and daydream about what was waiting for us. Road trips in the Philippines hit differently β a mix of bumpy roads, car karaoke, roadside food, and random laughter. Honestly, the trip there already felt like an adventure.
And then, finally β Moalboal! The moment we arrived, I could already feel a shift in energy. Everything just felt lighter. The air smelled of salt and sea, and the sun seemed to shine a little brighter. The vibes hit different β calm, peaceful, and full of life all at once.
Now let me paint you a picture of the beach: The shoreline stretches far and wide, blanketed in soft, powdery white sand that warms your feet like a hug. The water? Crystal clear. Like, see-through-your-toes kind of clear. You can spot tiny fish swimming close to the shore and colorful corals just a few steps in. The sea glowed with different shades of blue β from turquoise near the shore to deep sapphire farther out. πβ¨
Gentle waves lapped at the beach, creating this rhythmic sound that instantly calms your mind. There were a few boats anchored nearby, and palm trees swaying lazily with the wind, casting shadows that danced across the sand. It was the kind of view you only see on postcards β and yet, there we were, living it.
And let me tell you β their seafood? π€€ It was so fresh, it honestly felt like it jumped out of the ocean and onto my plate. Grilled fish, buttery scallops, sweet shrimps β every bite was bursting with flavor. Now hereβs the thing... I was so hungry, I didnβt even get a chance to take a photo of any of it! π I was just like, βNo time for pics β this is war!β Haha! Slayed that meal like a true seafood warrior. No regrets. Just pure satisfaction.
But you know what made this trip really special? My daughter. Sheβs only one year old, but that day β oh, that day β she felt like a grown little soul next to me. We played by the shore like old friends, throwing small stones into the water, splashing each other, giggling like it was our own little secret world. For a moment, it didnβt feel like I was playing with a baby β it felt like I was reconnecting with someone Iβve known forever. π It was one of those moments that fills your heart in ways you didnβt know it could.
And just when I thought it couldnβt get any sweeter β she made a new little friend. π She walked right up to this other kid, no hesitation, like theyβve been besties since birth. They started playing, babbling, sharing toys (or at least trying to π). It was such a pure sight. It reminded me how naturally kind and open-hearted children are. Seeing her being that friendly made me feel so proud, so warm inside.
Itβs crazy how one spontaneous trip could turn into something so meaningful. It wasnβt planned. It wasnβt fancy. But it was real. It was joyful, healing, grounding, and something Iβll remember forever. The beach was beautiful, yes β but it was the laughter, the connection, the food, and those little surprise moments that made it unforgettable.
PS: OMG, you made it 'til the end?! You deserve a medal... or at least a a girlfriend/boyfriend haha. π§π Seriously though β thank you so much for sticking with me through my random storytelling, seafood obsession, and emotional mom moments. I didnβt expect this trip to be so memorable, and now look... Iβve basically written a novel about it. π
If you felt even a little bit like you were there with me β sandy toes, full tummy, and all β then mission accomplished! Until the next spontaneous adventure... donβt forget to pack snacks, wear sunscreen, and bring people you love (or at least someone who wonβt judge you for eating all the seafood before taking pics π ).
Much love and more chika soon, Rosieee out! βοΈππ΄
