As you all know, there are journeys that leave a lasting mark on our hearts. Journeys that move us through time, whether it's because of the people we meet along the way, the loved ones we share with us, the stories we discover, or the significance of each place where we leave our mark.
)Camagüey, located in the central-eastern part of Cuba, is one of the most beautiful cities I've ever visited. A city I was able to explore thanks to beings of light like @marpasifico and where I was able to embrace and experience the magic emanating from people like @neuropoeta, @camelia28, and @dulcekpricho. In addition, here we can find other excellent luminaries like @elisabethswan. As you can see, the number of hivers from this city multiplies, to everyone's delight. Camagüey is a land that produces culture and excellence without limits.

)Founded on February 2, 1514, in Punta del Guincho, Nuevitas Bay, under the name Villa de Santa María del Puerto del Príncipe by Spanish settlers led by Diego Velázquez de Cuéllar, it always enjoyed a prosperous development thanks to the exploitation of the livestock sector.
Following various uprisings and attacks, the town was moved to various locations until 1528, when it settled in the indigenous village of Camagüei, further in the center of the territory. It remains to this day as one of the oldest cities in the country, with its best levels of architectural preservation, which earned it the title of World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

)As Cuba's third largest province, it is privileged to boast an exceptional historical and cultural legacy. It is the birthplace of such significant figures as Nicolás Guillén, our National Poet; Carlos J. Finlay, who discovered the cure for yellow fever; and illustrious thinkers such as Enrique José Varona and Ignacio Agramonte, leader of the Cuban independence struggle.

)Another element that distinguishes the city is the number of churches it has, around which squares and an entire urban structure were built, which leads us to think we can get lost when walking through its streets even today.

)Known as the city of tinajones (water jars), we can still delight in the presence of these vessels, which had a great impact at the time due to the need to store large quantities of water in an area historically plagued by droughts. The tinajones, clay vessels that give water a consistently cool temperature and a unique flavor, have become the bearers of a popular aphorism that tells us that whoever drinks water from a tinajón (water jar) will stay in Camagüey.
I don't really know if it's true, but I can tell you that a large piece of my heart remains in its streets, its cobblestones, its squares, and in the embrace of those people whom I thank for having been illuminated by their angel wings.

)There I was able to read my poems in various places of great value to me, such as the Nicolás Guillén House of Poetry, I was able to have fun helping to clean the patio of @marpasifico's house, prepare dinner on the very first day of my arrival, dive into the water jars in search of water, discover stories at 3 in the morning through magical people who accompanied us in the Plaza del Carmen and I even had a symbolically positive dialogue with The Beatles and even with Nicolás Guillén.
)So, from Callejón del Catre, the smallest street in Cuba, I bid you farewell until a future trip.

Como todos conocen, hay viajes que marcan nuestros corazones por siempre. Viajes que nos estremecen en el tiempo, bien sea por las personas que conocemos en el camino, los seres que nos acompañan en esa ocasión, las historias descubiertas o lo significativo de cada lugar donde dejamos colgadas nuestras huellas.
)Camagüey, ubicada en la zona centro oriental de Cuba, es una de las ciudades más hermosas que he visitado. Una Villa que pude recorrer gracias a seres de luz como @marpasifico y donde pude abrazar y conocer la magia que desprenden personas como @neuropoeta @camelia28 y @dulcekpricho, pero además, acá podemos encontrar a otras excelentes luminarias como @elisabethswan. Como pueden percibir, el número de hivers provenientes de esta ciudad se multiplica para beneplácito de todos. Es que Camagüey es una tierra que produce cultura y excelencia sin límites.
))Fundada 2 de febrero de 1514 en Punta del Guincho, bahía de Nuevitas, con el nombre de Villa de Santa María del Puerto del Príncipe por colonos españoles liderados por Diego Velázquez de Cuéllar, tuvo siempre un desarrollo próspero con la explotación del sector ganadero.
A raíz de diversas sublevaciones y asaltos que se sucedían, la villa fue trasladada a varios sitios hasta que en 1528 se asienta en el pueblo indígena de Camagüei, más al centro del territorio y donde se encuentra hasta nuestros días siendo una de las ciudades más antiguas del país y con mejores niveles de conservación en sus construcciones arquitectónicas, lo cual la hizo merecedora del ser declarada Patrimonio de la Humanidad por la UNESCO.
))))Siendo la tercera provincia más grande de Cuba, tiene el privilegio de contar con un legado histórico y cultural excepcional. Es la cuna de personalidades tan significativas como Nicolás Guillén, nuestro Poeta Nacional, Carlos J. Finlay, quien descubrió la cura para la fiebre amarilla y pensadores tan ilustres como Enrique José Varona o Ignacio Agramonte, líder de sus procesos de lucha independentista.
)))Otro elemento que distingue a la ciudad es la cantidad de iglesias que posee y sobre las cuales se construyeron plazas y toda una estructura urbanística que nos lleva a pensar que podemos perdernos cuando caminamos por sus calles aún en la actualidad.
))Conocida como la ciudad de los tinajones, aún podemos deleitarnos con la presencia de estas vasijas que tuvieron gran impacto en su momento por la necesidad de almacenar grandes cantidades de agua en una zona históricamente afectada por sequías. Los tinajones, vasijas de barro que le confieren una temperatura siempre fresca y un sabor único al agua, se han convertido en portadores de un aforismo popular que nos dice que quien bebe agua de un tinajón se queda a vivir en Camagüey.
Realmente no sé si es cierto pero, les puedo decir que un gran trozo de mi corazón permanece en sus calles, sus adoquines, sus plazas y en el abrazo de aquellas personas a quienes agradezco haber sido iluminado por sus alas de ángeles.
))))))))))))Allí pude leer mis poemas en diversos lugares de gran valor para mí, como la Casa de la Poesía Nicolás Guillén, pude divertirme ayudando a limpiar el patio de la casa de @marpasifico, preparar la cena el mismo primer día de llegada, sumergirme en los tinajones en busca de agua, descubrir historias a las 3 de la madrugada mediante personas mágicas que nos acompañaron en la Plaza del Carmen y hasta dialogué simbólicamente con The Beatles y hasta con Nicolás Guillén.
)Así, desde el Callejón del Catre, la calle más pequeña de Cuba, me despido hasta un próximo viaje.
