It's been a couple of weeks since I've been here. The topics of the previous weekends did not inspire me, but in this one I have come up with a few that I loved, although I am only going to develop one.
When I was in college, I was invited to the wedding of a friend of mine's aunt. It was a Christian wedding, so alcohol was not supposed to be present. It was Saturday and I found it very strange not to drink at such an important celebration.
So I convinced my friend and his cousins to buy a bottle of rum, and we drank on the sly so as not to offend the married couple. As it turned out, the rum tasted so good that we decided to buy another bottle.
After that second bottle another one appeared, courtesy of the father of one of my friend's cousins. So the party had made sense to us. Between drinks I began to see very blurry.
I began to say medical words with uncanny accuracy. It was as if my brain was remembering every detail I had been taught in medical school, something that never happens when sober.
I felt then that I had reached my limit. I had had too much alcohol, so I asked my friend to drive me home, which was thankfully close to the venue.
At home I threw up every last organ in my body. I fell into my bed in a near coma-like sleep. When I woke up in the morning, it seemed that reality had turned into a nightmare. I vomited again and again.
I only stopped a few hours after noon. Luckily I didn't get dehydrated, and I lived to tell the story. Well, knowing this, you can imagine what my hangover remedy is, just avoid having one.
Just avoid getting one. How do you avoid a hangover? Well, just don't get drunk. I'm not telling you to avoid alcohol, of course you can. But there is no reward in going crazy drinking. Once you're drunk you no longer have the ability to enjoy yourself.
Drink water between each drink of alcohol you have. I think the limit as far as you can go is that moment when you have a slight dizziness and you are still conscious of the actions you are taking.
After that hangover came another one. And that's when I decided that I was never going to be drunk again, which I've kept to this day. Drink responsibly, especially if you are going to drive. Best regards.
