Visiting Christmas Park in Puerto Ordaz

By hlezama on 7/26/2025

Puerto Ordaz (Ciudad Guayana) has some great touristic attractions. Unfortunately, if you don't have a car, you have to walk long distances because public transportation sucks. The girls decided to go try a fast food stands at Parque la Navidad, so we walked there.

Considering it was a friday night, the whole area was deserted.

It was kind of spooky, but we were acting like that was our backyard.

20 minutes later, we arrived at the place.

There were a few cars, but very few customers. I guess most of the cars belonged to the owners of the stands.

They bring their products to sell here and carry them back home when they close.

They sell all kinds of stuff (toys, accessories, clothes, desserts and fast food).

As it usually happens, they get distracted with the accessories and forget about the food 🤭 Until they remember in 9 pm and they have not had dinner. We tried these giant "pastelitos", which they have in a variety of fillings.

We went for the chicken cordon bleu and sea food mix. Half was enough for anyone, at least it was for me. They were good, nothing extraordinary, but good.

After dinner, we walked around the park to look at the two most visited spots, the two things that make visitors feel they are somewhere else, maybe in Europe 😁

The emblematic windmill, donated by Vanalum (one of the "basic industries" in this mining region) in 1988.

And the troll, donated by a Norwegian company that was part of the early development of the metalurgic industries here.

It was a great night, thanks to my daughters' always enthusiastic nature and goofy humor. Time and circumstances pulled us apart, but it felt great to be together once again, even if briefly. They will always be my little girls! ❤️❤️🌻🌻

Thanks. Yes. Let's Say we are trying to compensate for years of forced separation. Of course, there is only so.much we can afford and at some point we'll be content with just staying home and watch a movie on the laptop, but we are trying to make new memories together because @imabby17 will go back to Brazil soon, I'll go back to Caracas, and God knows when we'll reunite again.
