Weekend engagement. Contest 268: My Study Habit Makes Me a Role Model

By ritaetim on 7/25/2025

One attitude that makes me a good role model to others is my commitment to studying. Whether I am at home or in the school library, you’ll most likely find me buried in a book or flipping through notes. Studying isn’t just something I do because I have to, it’s something I genuinely enjoy.

This habit hasn’t gone unnoticed. Back in my neighborhood, I'll hear some parents often say to their children, “Can’t you be like Mr. Etim’s daughter who is always with her books?” It’s something that makes me smile quietly, not out of pride, but because I see how my actions are inspiring others.

Even in school, my classmates tease me by calling me names like “library addict” or “bookworm" cause they often find me in the library. I spend my free times there studying. But behind those jokes, I’ve noticed something deeper, many of them are now reading more, spending time in the library, and paying better attention to their studies. Some even come to study with me, and together, we push one another to improve. Atimes I hear them say they will stay as long as I usually do without getting tired. They stick to it sometimes and sometimes, they don't.

I never set out to be a role model. I was just doing what I love. But now I see that being consistent and passionate about something good can influence others in positive ways. My study habit has become more than just a personal routine; it’s now a thing that encourages others to sit up and take their studies seriously too.

Being a good example and role model for others to see and follow through is a good thing and always a source of pride. I hope you Keep it up so that others will continue to learn also because most kids nowadays don't like reading. Thank you for sharing
