Halooo guys... How's your weekend going ? In this blog I will tell you How I spent my weekend.
It was a breezy Sunday morning, with a thin layer of clouds over the sky, and the grass still damp with dew. The morning felt calm yet energizing. Dozens of friends and I gathered in a green park at the Faculty of Economics, University of North Sumatra, to participate in a Mat Pilates session.
As soon as we arrived, the sight immediately brought a smile to our faces: colorful mats were spread out on the grass, people were greeting each other, and the atmosphere was incredibly warm. No one was in a rush; everyone came with the same intention: to enjoy the weekend while staying active and healthy.
The session began with us sitting cross-legged, inhaling slowly, and then exhaling deeply. Ahh... it felt instantly liberating. The instructor guided us gently, the movements flowing and stress-free. Even first-timers could easily follow along.
Midway through the workout, we moved on to core movements that worked the abdominal and hip muscles. It looked easy, but it was quite a workout! What made it fun was that even though we were focused on the exercise, we still managed to laugh a little when the movements felt a bit difficult. Some even wiped away sweat with small towels, but remained enthusiastic from start to finish.
The atmosphere in the park was also very supportive. Surrounded by shady trees, the cool air, and the not-too-hot sky made us feel more relaxed. It felt very different from exercising indoors. The outdoors really has its own way of helping us recharge. Some friends brought small tripods for documentation β because, well, who doesn't want to capture exciting memories like this? Especially for those of us who rarely get time to gather together to exercise together.
At the end of the session, we sat back, took a deep breath, and closed our eyes for a moment. It felt peaceful. Not only did our bodies feel more energized, but our minds felt calmer too. It was a simple therapy that can be done once a week to maintain sanity amidst the busyness of daily activities.
Mat Pilates is a form of exercise that focuses on core strength, flexibility, and proper posture. It doesn't require heavy equipment or a special space; all you need is a mat, enthusiasm, and fresh morning air. And indeed, the combination of flowing movements and the outdoor atmosphere makes this session feel more enjoyable and full of positive energy. After the pilates session, we have breakfast together.
If you've never tried Mat Pilates in a park, trust me⦠you'll love it! The atmosphere, the movements, and the camaraderie really liven up your Sunday morning.
