The Boyfriend Experience. Weekend Engagement 267

Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton sang, You can't make old friends;

His name is James. We call him Cyka or Jimi. It all started with a crush. Or maybe it was lust at first sight. So I did the unthinkable. I asked another guy, who turned out to be a snitch, if James was single. And he snitched to James, which didn't turn out well.

One day, as I was spreading tea, Jimi came to help. I thought it was sweet until sweet turned sour when he told me about the question I had asked and said, if in the future I have any questions regarding him, then I should ask him. I prayed the ground to eat me alive out of embarrassment. The crush instantly died, 'cause what the heck? Little did I know...

That was the beginning of a very beautiful friendship. Maybe it was the fact that he was outright honest. We became very close to an extent where, people started saying that we were dating. I never even got to kiss the guy. But there's something he did that made me love him.

Following the allegations, we decided to give the people what they were asking for. Behind closed doors (in this case, outside the factory walls), we only knew that we weren't dating. It was pure Platonic. But, he gave me the boyfriend experience. Yes, we did a make-believe scene in the factory. Always hanging together if we're on a break, him coming over to offer a hand whenever he could, him visiting me in the factory if he happened to be having a day off, and I was working.

Although I have left the factory, and the town, I know that I can't make an old friend.
