It has been six months since I last visited our burger stall. Time flew quickly, and I was mostly busy at home helping my husband with his dream for our family, a new halal pizza shop. The shop is just a few steps away from our burger place in Mont Kiara Plaza, but opening a new business is not easy. He needed my full support, so I gave it without second thoughts. And on the first day of his pizza shop opening, I decided to go with him and be there. So I can visit both shops, our old burger stall and his brand-new pizza place. I wanted to see how things were going and give him some moral support. When I arrived at Mont Kiara Plaza, it felt like returning home, it’s just last year when only my husband and I were looking after the burger stall, and now we have three staff. The place hasn’t changed much. The walkways still had that warm feel, filled with people from offices and condos. It’s a lively place, especially during lunch and dinner crowd. That’s why we chose this spot. The location fits perfectly with our food business style, simple, quick meals, mostly for Grab-Food orders, but with dine-in options too. Our burger shop looked warm and familiar. I smiled when I saw the big burger display still standing proudly outside. The "OPEN" sign was glowing as usual. I stepped inside and saw everything was in place: the counter, the crew, the kitchen. It felt nice to be back.

But this visit wasn’t just about the burger stall. It was about something new. I turned the corner and walked just a few steps. It’s our new pizza shop. It was the first official day, and I could see he was a bit nervous and excited. The place was clean, and we hired one worker for now. I looked around and felt proud. The kitchen had the shiny new ovens, the freezers were neatly arranged, and the workspace was organized. It was small but had everything needed to make good pizzas. The orders were still slow. It was only the first day, and that’s normal. We know that it takes time to build a name, even in a busy location like Mont Kiara. But we are not worried. Our plan is simple: we serve quality food fast, and we target the right crowd, office workers, busy families, and condo residents who often order online. Most of our sales usually come from GrabFood, and that’s where we are putting our focus. The dine-in option is just a bonus. People in this area are always on the go. They like to order food while working or relaxing at home. That’s why both our shops are set up mainly for delivery. The kitchen flow, packaging, and menu are designed to make food travel well and arrive fresh.

While I was there, I saw the first few pizzas come out of the oven, and the first order went out. The smell was amazing, I couldn’t stop myself, I had to try it too. warm cheese, soft crust, and rich tomato sauce. My husband handed me a slice and said, “Try this.” I took a bite. It was delicious. I could see how much effort he put into this. He looked tired but happy. I know that feeling, the mix of stress and excitement on opening day. I smiled at him and said, “You did it.” He smiled back. It wasn’t a busy day in terms of sales, but we know we have to do some marketing so people will know our tasty, reasonable product. But it was a big win for us as a family. Our shops have two different types; one sells non-halal burgers, the other sells halal pizza, but they share the same heart. Both were built with love, hard work, and faith that if we give our best, people will come. As I walked away, I felt hopeful. Business may be slow at the start, but we believe in the long game. In this busy city, with so many people looking for good food and fast service, we believe our shops have a place. And we’re ready to grow, we want to open more soon, just slowly and patiently.
