Today, in 26 July 2025, I meet an idol in person. Its a great journey, and i am so happy. Honestly, I was even trembling to get a photo and shake his hand. After frequently listen to his content, opinions, and work on various social media platforms, the year long wait finally paid off.
Wait. What makes you happy? Of course, what makes me happy isn't the person I idolize. I always liked that his opinions align with mine. He is a stand up comedian and one of the founders of stand up comedy in Indonesia, Pandji Pragiwaksono.
In 2022, I have plan to watch his special show, but it was cancel due to the COVID-19 last period. All events was canceled, and I cant watch the special show! It's sad.
Then, three years later, he returned with a special show with a different theme, "Mensrea." My husband and I finally watching it. This is an unforgettable moment in 2025 for me.
Mensrea is a special show themed around politics. It's not about criticizing the government, but about the people's role within a country in running the government system. It critiques how the people should choose and what criteria they should use. It's not about appointing or directing leaders, but rather about being wiser as citizens.
The meaning of "mensrea" itself is about evil intentions. More specifically, how you, as a citizen, examine the evil intentions of someone entering politics and how you can respond. Should you vote or not? That's why this special show is called "mensrea."
I was pleasantly surprised by the many jokes that turned out to be very relatable to me as a taxpayer. Thats why everyone should be to watch this special show.
One of my lucky moments was awarde a priority photo card, as I was one of the first 100 people to register and purchase tickets. I am so happy, even though my face look incredibly bad 'cause I was not ready for a photo. It was like I freeze for a moment when I received a warm greeting from Pandji Pragiwaksono.
Something I'll look forward to in the future, give the time and opportunity to watch the special show again. I'll be waiting for that time to come soon.
