Hello there! It's me, Mae!
I hope you all are doing well. The best dates are the ones that feel easy-going. It happened when my boyfriend and I had our recent lunch-and-park outing. We wanted to escape the usual hustle and bustle, so we decided to keep things simple and try out Chicken at Baboy Terminal, a local eatery just a few minutes from downtown, right across from the lagoon park.

It was our first time checking the place out, and we were pretty curious. The drive was only about five minutes, but it felt like a mini getaway since we were busy with academics. As soon as we parked and walked into the restaurant, the smell of freshly cooked food hit us. The vibe was super cozy—no fancy decor, just a table and comfy chair that made you feel at home.
The atmosphere was laid-back, but you could feel the warmth everywhere. The sounds of dishes sizzling in the kitchen, people chatting, and the friendly staff made it all feel welcoming. We snagged a spot by the window, giving a nice view of the lagoon park across the street. While waiting for our food, we chatted about everything from cravings to random memories.
We ordered a hearty, sizzling pork sisig with egg on top. He ordered it with unlimited rice and unlimited juice for a not-pricy price. The portions were generous, and let me tell you, the taste was just as good as people said. Pure comfort food hit the spot, especially when shared with someone you love. Every bite tasted terrific! (a food lover here!)

After we ate, we took a stroll over to the lagoon park. The weather was perfect—bright but not too hot, with a nice breeze blowing. We walked along the path, the trees swaying, and kids playing in the distance. It was so peaceful. We didn’t need anything extravagant to enjoy the moment; it was just enough being together, holding hands, and soaking in the chill beauty of the place.
We found a chill spot under a tree and decided to hang out on the bench. It felt like one of those rare moments when time takes a break. We weren’t in a hurry, didn’t look at our phones, and didn’t stress about anything—just enjoying the peace, and being together.

Then something cute happened—a cat, just a few steps away, caught our eye. It was lounging under the same tree, all focused on a bit of bird pecking at nearby grass. I couldn’t help but snap a quick pic of the scene. Hahaha! It was such a random but cute moment that made our afternoon even better.
As we sat there longer, our conversation took a deeper turn. We started chatting about his upcoming on-the-job training (OJT) in Laguna in August, which would last almost a year. Hearing it again hit me with a bit of sadness, knowing he’d be away for a while. But I got that he had to do it for us to graduate together. We talked about how we’d deal with the distance, and our hopes as the sun slowly set behind the trees.

Before leaving the park, we took a few more photos—catching the last bit of golden light—and held onto the moment a little longer.
Hoping to see you all again! Bye bye! ❤️
