Hola, Queridos Hivers!

Hoy les traigo un trabajo artístico lleno de inspiración y amor.

Era una noche normal, común, en la cual mi mamá y yo estábamos sentadas en la mesa cada una en lo suyo. Yo estaba diseñando un vestido, cuando de repente sentí el lindo deseo de dibujar a mi señor Jesucristo. Y ya con muchos pines de pinterest referente a eso guardados, elegí uno y me puse manos a la obra.

Importante destacar que NO es un diseño original, es más bien un "cover".

Para comenzar busqué todos mis materiales: El block, lápices, oil pastels y marcadores. Luego busqué la imagen de referencia y empecé a hacer el primer sketch.

Luego repasé las líneas más importantes, como la forma de la cara, de la barba, la nariz, la boca, etc. para que no se perdieran y me guiaran a la hora de añadir los oil pastels.

Comencé con las sombras, y luego añadí el color carne, que me dió el color base, y me ayudó a difuminar las sombras. En mi próximo dibujo intentaré hacerlo al reves, porque debo confesar que si le quito algo de pigmento, pero no lo consideré una traba o un error, ya que igual tenía la guía y lo pude volver a repasar. Una vez que terminé con los colores de la piel, añadí la barba, y empecé a colorear los elementos fuera de la cara. Como la ropa y el cabello.

Tanto para la ropa como para el fondo usé azul, blanco y destellos de color mostaza y marrón, tal como en la foto de referencia.

Sinceramente cuando hago retratos así me da mucha flojera hacer el fondo jajaja, pero menos mal este era algo sencillo. Con varios tonos de azul lo logré, y estaba lista para empezar con el cabello!

En mi última obra con oil pastels aprendí que los colores oscuros van de últimos, ya que si le pones la mano encima sin darte cuenta, puedes manchar las partes claras. Un tip muy importante ese. En fin, para el cabello, así como hice con la barba, empecé con una base negra, la mezclé con marrón oscuro, y antes de añadir el marrón más claro, le di algo de textura con mi lapiz infinito. También le añadí blanco para darle esa luz que se ve en la imagen de referencia, y me gustó mucho el resultado, a pesar de que estaba nerviosa al principio jejeje.

Después solo tocó afinar unos detalles de los que me iba dando cuenta mientras intentaba tomar la foto final, hasta que por fin quedé satisfecha con el resultado.

No quedó muy parecido a la imagen, pero a mi me gustó, y lo hice con el corazón. Espero que a Jesús también le haya gustado. 🙏🏼

Today I bring you an artwork full of inspiration and love.

It was a normal, ordinary night, when my mom and I were sitting at the table, each doing her own thing. I was designing a dress when I suddenly had the wonderful urge to draw my Lord Jesus Christ. With so many Pinterest pins saved on the subject, I chose one and got to work.

It's important to note that this is NOT an original design; it's more of a "cover."

To begin, I gathered all my materials: The sketchpad, pencils, oil pastels, and markers.Then I found the reference image and began to make the first sketch.

Then I went over the most important lines, such as the shape of the face, beard, nose, mouth, etc., so that they wouldn't get lost and would guide me when adding the oil pastels.

I started with the shadows, and then added the flesh color, which gave me the base color and helped me blend the shadows. In my next drawing, I'll try to do it the other way around, because I must confess that I did remove some pigment, but I didn't consider it a hindrance or a mistake, since I still had the guide and could go over it again. Once I finished the skin tones, I added the beard and started coloring in the elements outside the face. Like the clothing and hair.

For both the clothing and the background, I used blue, white, and flashes of mustard and brown, just like in the reference photo.

Honestly, when I do portraits like this, I'm really lazy about doing the background, haha, but thank goodness this one was simple. I managed it with several shades of blue, and I was ready to start on the hair!

In my last oil pastel work, I learned that dark colors go last, because if you accidentally touch it, you can smudge the lighter areas. That's a very important tip. Anyway, for the hair, just like I did with the beard, I started with a black base, mixed it with dark brown, and before adding the lighter brown, I gave it some texture with my infinity pencil. I also added white to give it that light look you see in the reference image, and I really liked the result, even though I was nervous at first, haha.

After that, I just had to fine-tune a few details that I noticed while trying to take the final photo, until I was finally satisfied with the result.

It didn't turn out very similar to the image, but I liked it, and I did it with all my heart. I hope Jesús liked it too. 🙏🏼
