おはよう dear friends of Splinterlands. I'm sure you missed me last week as you didn't get a review of any card. I took the week off not a complete holiday, as I uploaded a couple of Actifit reports and an original story about another game in the Hive universe: risingstar. So, as you can see, my holiday was neither complete nor a total disconnection. It was a small disconnection from Splinterlands and its articles because, maybe you don't know it, but writing an article like the one you are reading now usually takes me more than an hour between battle, selection of letter to analyse, writing, translating while writing, editing and, finally, publishing so that you, dear reader, can read these analyses. Is it worth it? Undoubtedly. And not only for the rewards. More importantly, it's the liberation and motivation I get from getting in front of a keyboard to write. So, I won't go on any longer. Here's your review for this week. I hope you enjoy it.
おはよう queridos amigos de Splinterlands. Seguro que la semana pasada me echaste de menos ya que no te llegó ningún análisis de ninguna carta. Y es que me tomé la semana de vacaciones. No de vacaciones completas pues subí un par de reportes de Actifit y una historia original sobre otro de los juegos del universo Hive: risingstar. Así que, como ves, mis vacaciones no han sido completas ni de desconexión total. Fue una pequeña desconexión de Splinterlands y de sus artículos pues, quizá no lo sepas, pero escribir un artículo como el que estás leyendo ahora me suele costar más de una hora entre batalla, selección de carta a analizar, escribir, traducir a la vez que escribo, editar y, finalmente, publicar para que tú, querido lector, puedas leer estos análisis. ¿Merece la pena? SIn duda. Y no solo por las recompensas. Más importante aún es la liberación y la motivación que me produce ponerme delante de un teclado a escribir. Venga, no me enrollo más. Aquí tienes tu análisis de esta semana. Espero que lo disfrutes.
As always, to begin with, a bit of background on the lore of the game and this week's featured card: Pyrewatch Devil. Yes, I'm back with the fire deck as I did a couple of weeks ago. These fire deck creatures are dominated by their high passions. The flames that adorn their aura have a direct correlation to the intensity of their passions, be it heat, dryness, intense passion, or just something as basic as fire itself. Her fiery heart is more than magic, it is life breaking through. Don't tell me the game's lore isn't simply wonderful.
Como siempre, para empezar, un poquito de contexto con el lore del juego y de la carta analizada esta semana: Pyrewatch Devil. Si, repito con el mazo de fuego como hace un par de semanas. Y es que las situaciones de combate y rivales así me lo ponen en bandeja. Estas criaturas del mazo de fuego están dominadas por sus altas pasiones. Las llamas que adornan su aura tienen una relación directa con la intensidad de sus pasiones sean estas calor, sequedad, intensa pasión o simplemente algo tan básico como el fuego en si mismo. Su ardiente corazón es más que magia, es la vida abriendose camino. No me digas que el lore del juego no es simplemente maravilloso.
The use of Pyrewatch Devil opens up an interesting range of tactical options with the fire deck. As you know, this deck's main strength is its melee attack with cards and summoners that are really powerful in the art of close combat. Having a card like this that has a ranged attack gives us some ability to surprise and provide tactical variations to our strategies. At a cost of three mana points, at level 1, it gives us one point of ranged attack, two points of speed and three points of vitality. These abilities will increase attack and speed by two units and vitality by one point. As special abilities Pyrewatch Devil brings Life Leech at his first level, Dispel at level 5 and Oppress at level 7.
La utilización de Pyrewatch Devil nos abre un interesante abanico de opción tácticas con el mazo de fuego. Como bien sabes, este mazo destaca y tiene su principal fortaleza en el ataque cuerpo a cuerpo con cartas e invocadores realmente poderosos en este arte del combate cercano. Contar con una carta como esta que tiene ataque a distancia nos da cierta capacidad de sorpresa y de dotar de variantes tácticas a nuestras estrategias. Con un coste de tres puntos de maná, a nivel 1, nos aporta un punto de ataque a distancia, dos de velocidad y tres de vitalidad. Capacidades que aumentarán en dos unidades ataque y velocidad y en un punto la vitalidad. Como habilidades especiales Pyrewatch Devil aporta Life Leech en su primer nivel, Dispel en el 5 y Oppress en el 7.
Let's get down to what you're really interested in: seeing this week's card in action. To do so, I've selected a battle in which the Fire, Earth and Dragon decks can be used. There is a limitation of 29 summon mana points and the battle conditions are as follows: Four's a crowd, Taking sides and Lost magic. Let's now take a look at how the combat has developed.
Vamos ahora con lo que te interesa de verdad: ver en acción la carta analizada esta semana. Para ello he seleccionado una batalla en la que se podrán utilizar los mazos de fuego, tierra y dragón. Hay una limitación a 29 puntos de maná de invocación y como condiciones de batalla aparecen las siguientes: Four's a crowd, Taking sides y Lost magic. Vamos a ver ahora cómo se ha desarrollado el combate.
As you've seen, I've shown you the playability and power of Pyrewatch Devil with my copy at level 6. I'll let you in on a secret, I'm two cards away from being able to level her up to level 7 and get her third special ability: Oppress. At the end of the month I'll get those two copies and I'll be able to level her up to a level where she's already a card to be reckoned with. The gameplay in this match was to place cards with good defensive power in front of her to give her as much time as possible on the battlefield and take advantage of her two points of ranged damage The strategy worked out quite well and I got a new victory. It's true that my opponent's line-up, with a similar idea to mine but with other cards, has adapted well to my foresight and strategy which has helped in my victory. But, at the end of the day, that's also what the game is about, analysing your opponent and getting the strategy right to counter their strengths. And today, Pyrewatch Devil helped me to do that.
Como has visto, te he mostrado la jugabilidad y poder de Pyrewatch Devil con mi copia a nivel 6. Te cuento un secreto, estoy a dos cartas de poder subirla a nivel 7 y obtener así su tercera habilidad especial: Oppress. A final de mes conseguiré esas dos copias y podré subirla a un nivel en el que ya es una carta a tener muy en cuenta. La jugabilidad en este combate ha sido la de colocar cartas con buen poder defensivo delante para darle el máximo tiempo posible sobre el campo de batalla y aprovechar así sus dos puntos de daño a distancia. La estrategia ha salido bastante bien y he obtenido una neva victoria. Bien es cierto que la alineación de mi rival, con una idea similar a la mia pero con otras cartas, se ha adaptado bien a mi previsión y estrategia lo cual ha ayudado en mi victoria. Pero, al fin y al cabo, el juego también es eso, analizar al rival y acertar con la estrategia para contrarrestar sus puntos fuertes. Y, hoy, Pyrewatch Devil, me ha ayudado a conseguirlo.
