August is here, and in my family we welcome it with a very special excitement. The fresh winds that are beginning to blow in Colombia announce the arrival of a joyful and colorful month. This year, in addition, it has an even more festive meaning for us: my daughter's graduation from graduate school. A moment we have been looking forward to with excitement and pride, and which fills our hearts with joy.

Agosto ya está aquí, y en mi familia lo recibimos con una emoción muy especial. Los vientos frescos que comienzan a soplar en Colombia anuncian la llegada de un mes alegre y colorido. Este año, además, tiene un significado aún más festivo para nosotros: la graduación de postgrado de mi hija. Un momento que hemos esperado con ilusión y orgullo, y que llena de alegría nuestro corazón.
Every year, August brings with it a Colombian tradition that I love: seeing the sky adorned with kites, or parrots as we call them in Venezuela, flying free, pushed by the wind. It is an image that inspires me, because that is how I feel our dreams are too: ready to soar, they just need that little push of faith, perseverance and love.
August invites us to look to the sky, to dream with more strength, to trust that we can achieve what we set out to do. I wish for all of us that this fresh breeze refreshes our souls, and encourages us to continue betting on life with hope and optimism.
Let's keep walking, celebrating and believing. Each new month brings new opportunities, and this August, more than ever, we want to live and embrace it with gratitude and a heart ready to fly high.
Cada año, agosto trae consigo una tradición colombiana que me encanta: ver el cielo adornado de cometas, o papagayos como les decimos nosotros en Venezuela, que vuelan libres, empujadas por el viento. Es una imagen que me inspira, porque así siento que son también nuestros sueños: listos para elevarse, solo necesitan ese empujoncito de fe, constancia y amor.
Agosto nos invita a mirar al cielo, a soñar con más fuerza, a confiar en que podemos alcanzar lo que nos proponemos. Deseo para todos que esta brisa fresca nos refresque el alma, y nos anime a seguir apostándole a la vida con esperanza y optimismo.
Sigamos caminando, celebrando y creyendo. Pues, cada nuevo mes trae nuevas oportunidades, y este agosto, más que nunca, queremos vivirlo y abrazarlo con gratitud y el corazón dispuesto a volar alto.
