Today, our son came over for a weight lifting workout and lunch, which had russian style hard salami with butter and black bread as well as pineapple fanta and whiskey chocolate truffles from Frans.
I know, not the healthiest kind of meal, but I think it's nice to have some fun eating things that we enjoy. Also, right after a workout, it is probably the best time to consume that kind of stuff.
While we lifted weights, we talked about his work, and one of the interesting things that he told me was that his boss announced that in order to get an annual review rating of Meets Expectations they have to be using Chat GPT and agile on daily basis.
That is amazing. About a year after it started taking off, it is becoming so mainstream in corporate America that you have to be using it on a daily basis just to keep your job.
What is it going to be like in ten years from now? I think our world is changing, and the pace of change is accelerating.
He is also looking at getting a masters or an MBA degree as his company helps pay for the classes.
We looked at the cost of an online MBA from the University of Washington Foster School of Business, and it starts around 100k USD...
That is not cheap... I guess everything got more expensive in recent years.
We also talked about his recent mid year review with his new boss. He got Meets Expectations, and the funny thing that suggested improvements that he received were right along the lines of what I used to receive at the beginning of my career.
It's funny how our children are sometimes mirror us. I guess being around me when he was young, he picked up a lot of things from me.
He has been working there for three years now and has not lived with us for even longer, but he still has what he picked up from me. Or maybe it is the genetics...
Anyway, it was a great weekend, and I am ready to jump back into work tomorrow. I managed to do a bunch of stuff around the house, like fixing one of our bathroom faucets, paying property taxes online, writing letters to insurance companies, and watered tomatoes.
We also had a couple of tomatoes. These two were the early girl variety. My daughter said it was so much better than the ones we get from the store. Even though we buy the best organic heirloom tomatoes at the stores. I have to agree with her. The heirloom varieties we have coming up will be even better than the early girl.
In the evening, we watched an episode of Jack Ryan. We are almost done with season two.
That show only has four seasons, so we will be done with it in no time...
