July is almost ending, and I got some birthday songs for the Three Tune Tuesday initiative by Ablaze. That is because two of my loved ones are celebrating their nth years in this plane we call Earth.
So, let me start with the first tune, featuring an English singer-songwriter and three-time world champion in Shotokan Karate. That's a rare combination of talent, yeah?
Here it is!
Anne-Marie: Birthday
She co-wrote this pop song with American singer Delacey. This single was released in February 2020, its fun lyrics co-written by the artist with three others, including the American singer Delacey. I'm quite sure I'll be hummin' these for a little while.π
The second tune with the same title as the above is from one of the best-selling music artists in history, dubbed the Queen of Camp, and one of the greatest pop stars of the 21st century.
Katy Perry: Birthday
A song in the disco genre with elements of funk-pop. It was released over a decade ago as part of her album Prism. Various critics referred to the track as a "stone-cold stunner", "pure fun", "glorious retro-disco explosion" "catchiest thing", "delectable pop confection", etc.(src)
Me? I like it simply for its fun, danceable vibe.
Okay, let's check out the third tune already.
It's a country song, which I'm now trying to learn (with the help of the husband), so we can play it for Mom on her first heavenly birthday. It's just been three months, and we miss her terribly.
Steven Lee Olsen - Happy Heavenly
Through this song, we met another artist whom we haven't encountered before. Steven is a Canadian country music singer-songwriter who co-wrote the Grammy-nominated single by one of our favorite singers, Keith Urban.
Well, the song's lyrics hit close to home, and here's to quote:
And with that, I end this edition of my weekly participation in TTT (although I missed it last Tuesday).
Thank you and Happy, Happy Birthday to July birthday celebrators! Cheers to many more years to celebrate and lots of fun in your lives.
